Lastwishes.org.uk is a not-for-profit organization based in the UK - not strictly limited to the UK but primarily for UK based members using the various schemes of which there are a few, offering a wide range of pre-death advance planning ideas and services and automatic post-death communications. In addition to the automatic communication system, we have links to various contributor sites, sponsors and associates, which can provide a fund of valuable information covering all aspects of pre-death planning.
Although it is emanating from the UK, and even though the general website can be accessed by anyone anywhere in the world, we are primarily dealing with the central objects of allowing members to record data for the purposes of sending messages to friends, lovers and ANY contacts - who may never know of a members demise.
We have three UK schemes. The bronze is still a FREE service but only for UK based members. The Silver scheme extends the communication service to include more posted cards and more UK telephone calls. Our Gold service offers a very much wider option based service including living wills, video recording of last wishes, links to lawyers services and the like.
Our EU Silver scheme is a nominal fee based service where we extend the facilities and widen the contact base to include EU postal and telephone contacts. We also intend to setup a Gold scheme.
The basic web-based WW Scheme is free and available to a worldwide member base; it can be accessed anywhere by anyone who has an e-mail address and the use of a computer with Internet access. This scheme deals with automatic e-mails only sent after a proven members death.
We have 2 other schemes which will become live in the near future and will depend on suggestions and contributions from existing members and visitors who may wish for a wider range of services and methods of after-death contact - probably to other far distant countries.
The website is constantly evolving and even before its launch included methods of dealing with loved ones ashes - i.e. having them turned into diamonds, setting them into concrete to make a valuable off-shore reef and launching them into space.
For UK members they can research subjects like - buying receptacles (for Cremains), pre-arranging funerals, organizing a fabulous horse drawn hearse, dealing with security matters and animals left behind - to mention but a few.
